I had contacted Knightmare a while back about interest in this project but due to some real life medical issues and helping a few close friends get something going I had been afk from NWN gameplay for quite some time recently. I did have a few ideas that might help out and wanted to hear everyone's 2 cents about them.
One Idea would be to have a weekly Live IRC type session where Most Everyone can get together to share ideas and relate gameplay back to those who put all the hard work in bringing this to you.
Second would be like a NWN class Held every so often to explain all the unqiue features of the world and to introduce everyone.
An example would be listed below
Shattered Souls 101 OOC session/Q&A/tour. This will incorporate a primarily ooc meet up where DMs and experienced players will be around to give valuable information about playing in the World. From what all the widgets do, to little tips on rp'ing to Character Creation, travel and how to get around The Realms...basically a wide variety of information that will help any new player find their feet as swiftly as possible.
Curious as to what Everyone thinks about this

Another might to actually schedule the Class type event on Neverwinter Connections to bring in a few more people. Just a though

All great ideas.
I think the in-game tours would be the most useful, as you could then directly demonstrate stuff rather than trying to explain it with text.

Perhaps there is a way to have a NPC in the large cities give out important info/instruction and tours? That way a new-comer does not need to have a DM there to show him the ropes. But, with my limited knowledge of the toolset and scripting, I don't know if that is possible.

That's what the toursit guy at the start of Mosstone was intended for, but it hasn't been updated for a very long time. That might change soon though, when I have finished a VB program I am working on.
I actually think we might want to set things up a bit like the original NWN, with completely new characters starting in an "Academy". Experienced players can pretty much just walk out the door and start, but for newbies we can run them through some dialogs and scripted events to familiarize themselves with the systems of the PW, as well as to offer some tips and such for adventuring. Only thing is...
It is possible, but it is an AWFUL lot of work. We would probably need one builder dedicated just to this to get it done in a reasonable timeframe. So any volunteers ;D
