I'll start this off - trying to make this more of a "family."
Let's see... I've lived here in the hole they call Syracuse, NY, all my life. The weather here sucks, I think we're rated in the top few cities with the least amount of sunshine per year in all of the USA.
I went to a college on the banks of Lake Ontario for Criminal Justice and planned on being a cop or something (still do). But then some a**holes decided to fly planes into our towers and throw the whole country in disarray. You'd think that this would be "good" for someone who wanted to be a cop (with all this supposed "Homeland Security"), but it hasn't happened that way. Since then, not many cities have much in their budget for hiring new officers - especially here in NY. Because of this, I'm thinking more and more about moving south (and for better weather too!).
The job I have now is being a painter (buildings) for a real estate management company. Started doing that as a summer job right out of high school and can't seem to get away from it - bills need to be payed you know?
The best thing I have going now is my Girlfriend. We've been together for about 5 years and will be getting married on Aug. 14, 2004. Can't wait, should be one hell of a party (two Irish families tying the knot). For a honeymoon we have booked a 7 day western Carribean cruise. It goes to Cozumal, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and to the Grand Caymen Islands. We're both scuba divers so we're planning on taking advantage of the great waters while down there. After the cruise, we have two nights in New Orleans (ship port of call) before heading back home. Should be a great time!!
Have no children right now, but we do have two ferrets that might as well be our kids. Ferrets are by far the best pets around IMHO, better than dogs and way better than cats. They're like kittens/puppies that never grow up (always want to play despite how old they are). They're quite the little packrats/thieves too. I can't count how many times I've been looking for something only to find that one of the ferrets stole it and hid it in their ever growing collection.
Other things that I like to do is play paintball, camping/hiking, canoeing, etc. (I'll really love the outdoors despite the crappy weather). I've also been a downhill ski instructor for 4 years - been skiing since the 7th grade.
Been playing D&D since the early 1980s. My friends and I were pretty poor so we spent what little money we had buying D&D books. It costs nothing to use your imagination, so we spent a lot of time doing that. For most of that time I was our groups DM.
I got into computers through my father who has been a computer engineer for about 35 years or so, but I admit that I'm no pro at them by a long shot (barely make the ranking of novice lol).
Well, I guess that there's more to say, but I'll put that in a future post if I get to it.
Hopefully this will spur others to say a little more about themselves.
