Hey! I'm trying to start up an online raffle for something unrelated to this project. Anyone with a little programming skill care to help me out? I need something I can run on windows I would like to generate a 'virtual raffle ticket' for anyone who purchases one. The program should then keep track of these tickets and when it's time to draw the raffle, pick one of the sold tickets using the most random system possible. Any help appreciated.

I can do it for you if your computer can run java programs. If thats okay, then let me know and I will need to know the specifics.

Okay so you want a Java Applet program? If so, I guess your looking for a multi threaded server/client applet GUI-based program? A new client get a ticket 1 number higher then the last one? And then when do you want the draw to happen (After a specific number of draws or at the servers request) ?

or you could just upgrade the freakin server so I can play again There is a bad bug in the latest patch, so we aren't upgrading the server yet. Bioware MAY be looking into it (they mentioned they would on the forums, but who knows). I would prefer to wait a little while to see if they will fix it before changing the code to try to work around it (and even if I do it won't be 100%, so better if Bioware fix the problem). The last thing I want to have happen is to spend time coding a work-around, and then have Bioware release a fix a few days later so I have to spend more time reverting it back. Which means that is almost certainly what will end up happening... Anyway, it means I will be waiting at least a week to see if there is any more news from Bioware about it. After that I will re-access the situation.

And then when do you want the draw to happen (After a specific number of draws or at the servers request) ? Doesn't have to be that complicated. Just a simple program where I will be the only user. I need so that I can make the drawing once I determin that I've sold enough tickets to justify having a drawing. It would be really cool if I could generate a graphic representation of a ticket to give out to people like the one in my graphic above, but it's not necessary if it's too hard. It would also be better if it was a stand alone app that I can run from my comp rather than web-based. I'll send you some smokes if you pull this off And you should be able to run fine if you downgrade to the previous patch. and Ima... Stop hijacking my threads! LOL

Alright I will make a few samples by this weekend and send em to you. As for the graphic representation of the ticket, it may take a little more time with that (Little experience in the world of the .paint() method if you catch my meaning) But I'll give it a shot.
PS: No smokes needed. PSS: How do I downgrade?
