I've seen that on another Roleplaying server and it seemed a nice way to RP death and would make our evil NPCs happy . When you die, you are sent to Limbo (City Of Judgement in the future) and have a death tax to pay. I suggest that players should also "not remember" what happened to them for a day. (24 hours). All this In Game and by roleplaying too. I will give an exemple here. Billy the Kid arrives at Mosstone to finish up personal business with Drem Brew, the psychopatic killer. He never found him, but Drem did and killed Billy mercilessly. Billy finds himself in Limbo, knowing everything that happened to him, but when he returns to the living (either by his fellow clerics or the Mosstone Temple clerics), he dosen't remember what happenned... Nor does he know that Drem killed him.

Ofcourse that requires very good RP on the PC's side.
What it also leads to is, how many times is a PC allowed to kill another PC? If Billy doesn't know by who he's been killed, he could be easily killed again by Drem. And again. And again. And again. Get what i mean?

What it also leads to is, how many times is a PC allowed to kill another PC? If Billy doesn't know by who he's been killed, he could be easily killed again by Drem. And again. And again. And again. Get what i mean? Just so everyone is clear about this... PvP killing is ONLY allowed if the potential victim has agreed to the "duel" prior to hostility commencing. So in your example above if I decide that I have had enough of Billy being killed by Drem (even if I am pretending he doesn't know about it) I can just ask Dolomel to cease the attacks. If he continues with them anyway then he will be reported to an Admin (well obviously not in this example ). Anyway, about the amnesia... Although I have no problem with the idea where it seems appropriate, I wouldn't want to enforce it across the board. In most cases it would just be tedious pretending you have forgotten how you died (and the last day or whatever). For example, if you die half way through a dungeon while on a quest you usually want to just get right back in there where you left off. So by all means fake amnesia where it adds to the game (such as in the example Dolomel gave), but don't feel obliged to do it all the time.

I totally agree with what Ima said here. And totally disagree with Elmarand, Drem would not hit Billy in even 1000 try and the damage would be completely ignored even if I hit.

Yes, well, that's in the special case of Billy and Drem, but if Drem were to hit Lomion... poor Lomion.
